Our Comprehensive Teacher Training Program is designed to give you the knowledge, hands-on experience, and mentorship to become a confident, capable Pilates instructor. Accredited by the National Pilates Certification Program (formerly the PMA), the curriculum combines classical Pilates with contemporary movement science to prepare you to teach thoughtfully, safely, and with confidence.
You'll receive in-depth training on all major apparatuses (Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrel, and Spine Corrector) along with anatomy, pre- and postnatal considerations, contraindications, and injury awareness. Beyond learning the exercises, you'll develop the skills to cue effectively, build purposeful programs, modify for individual needs, create seamless transitions, and teach clients with a wide range of abilities and movement goals.
Throughout the program, you'll be supported with hands-on practice, structured mentorship, and guidance from experienced educators who are invested in your success. By the time you complete the program, you'll have a strong understanding of the Pilates method, the confidence to teach independently, and the tools to build a meaningful, lasting career as a Pilates Teacher.
Designed with busy schedules in mind, our weekend training format makes it possible to complete your certification while balancing work, family, or travel.
Developed in collaboration with THE LAB, a comprehensive curriculum created by Holly Swanson (Core Chicago Pilates) and Jacquelyn Brennan (Pilates & Coffee), this training is designed for those who want to do more than simply learn the exercises.
Our 500-HR program includes 7 weekends of in-person training, 75 hours of observation, 95 hours of self-practice, and 130 hours of teaching. Throughout the duration of the program of study and beyond, students will have access to all facilitators, studio space, on-going job support, and mentorship. Our training program is composed of 4 main components:
1. IN-STUDIO LECTURE: All modules are taught in person at Studio7 over the course of seven weekends utilizing your manuals.
2. SELF-PRACTICE HOURS: Personal practice hours conducted outside of the 7 weekends on your own time using your manual at Studio7, taking classes at Studio7, or taking classes at other studios.
3. PRACTICE TEACHING HOURS: We encourage you to begin teaching real bodies after your first weekend,
preferably at Studio7 with supervision.
4. OBSERVATION: watching experienced teachers teaching others is one of the best ways to absorb the information, preferably at Studio7 but not required.

What to look for in a comprehensive teacher training program
With the popularity of Pilates on the rise, programs are popping up in studios all over the country, making Pilates seem more accessible. However, these programs can be predatory - how do you know if you're getting a quality education that transfers to another studio? What happens if you move, will your certification be accepted in a new state? Unfortunately, not all programs are created equal. We have attached a file that includes IMPORTANT questions for you to be asking before registering for a program.
