Education Matters

Being a Pilates Teacher takes years of training – even after the hours are met, developing the skills to teach requires commitment, investment in continuing education, and time. So much time! But this also usually expands on our knowledge base, and helps us continue to bring relevant and quality education to our clients.

We say “our team is comprehensively certified”, but what does that mean? To be a Comprehensively Certified Pilates Teacher means someone has completed required training across all apparatus – Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels – and anatomy. To become a comprehensively certified Pilates Teacher, it costs upwards of $5,000 and takes 12 months minimum. The hours to completion include lecture, observation, self – integration, practice teaching, and many more to truly feel ready to teach. At Studio7, we firmly believe that a well-rounded teacher excels at both private instruction and groups, and we encourage everyone on staff to diversify their schedule as much as their availability allows. Additionally, we encourage our teachers to not only grow their skills in teaching but also by maintaining their own personal Pilates practice through group workouts, taking classes when available, and training with our apprentices. We’ve implemented a few improvements over the last twelve months to continue to bring you the best Pilates experience including:

• investing in teacher education

• hiring best-in-class teachers that are experienced and hold multiple certifications

• expanding our schedule to offer more times and requested formats

• providing continuing education incentives to our teachers

• so much more to come in 2026!

Quality Pilates is and always will be a priority for our studio, so be on the lookout for updates from our staff on their continuing education plans for the year. Additionally, supporting our staff to live full lives is incredibly important to us as a studio. We take pride in providing our teachers retirement benefits when eligible, yearly paid time off, and reinforcing a positive work environment. These employee benefits are not common for our industry, but we truly believe happy teachers = happy clients for the long haul, so this is something we’re happy to uphold within Studio7.
